UI issues

The general sentiment about Terra Invicta is positive among players who enjoy deep, complex strategy games with a hard sci-fi edge. However, the steep learning curve and extensive micromanagement can be off-putting to those not ready to invest the significant time it takes to master the game. While it offers an immersive experience for those who relish strategy and planning, the confusing UI and lack of comprehensive in-game guides are major drawbacks for newcomers. Overall, it's a brilliant but unforgiving game that rewards meticulous planning and patience.

Positive Points

The game offers an immersive and realistic simulation of an alien invasion, which appeals to fans of hard sci-fi and strategic planning.

It combines multiple gameplay elements including Earth politics, space colonization, and combat, offering a unique and comprehensive strategy experience.

The game's mechanics are deeply detailed, with an elaborate tech tree and intricate ship design, appealing to those who enjoy complex strategy and management systems.

There's a strong narrative element, with different factions offering varied perspectives and strategies on handling the alien threat, providing high replayability.

Negative Points

The game suffers from a steep learning curve and a lack of comprehensive tutorials, which can be overwhelming for new players.

A significant portion of the game involves repetitive micromanagement, particularly with councilor missions, which can become tedious over time.

Space combat is criticized for being unintuitive and overly complex, with many players relying on auto-resolution rather than engaging directly.

Many technologies and in-game options are considered redundant or 'noob traps,' which can frustrate players who make inefficient choices in their early playthroughs.

Mixed Points

The game's realism is appreciated by fans of hard sci-fi but may be perceived as too slow and punishing for those looking for a more straightforward strategy game.

While the depth of the game is a significant draw, the complexity can lead to missteps that players only realize after significant time investment, requiring restarts.

Common Themes

The depth and detail of the game's mechanics are frequently mentioned, with both praise for their intricacy and criticism for their complexity.

Players appreciate the unique blend of geopolitical strategy on Earth with space exploration and combat, despite some finding the transitions between these elements jarring.

The game's length and the significant time commitment required are common discussion points, often seen as both a strength and a challenge.

Issues with the user interface and the need for more tooltips and clearer guidance are recurrent points of critique.
