The general sentiment of the reviews is that Door Kickers 2 offers an immersive and strategically rewarding experience for fans of tactical games. The realistic portrayal of CQB, along with extensive mod support, is frequently highlighted as a major strength. However, some players are challenged by the game's difficulty curve and controversial use of stereotypes, which affects how enjoyable the game is for different audiences. While the control mechanics are praised by some for being realistic, others feel they border on punishing.

Positive Points

Many reviewers praised the game's realistic portrayal of Close Quarters Battle (CQB) tactics and its immersive, strategic gameplay mechanics.

The game's replayability is widely recognized, particularly due to its support for mods and the Steam Workshop, which offers an endless supply of community-created content and missions.

Players appreciate the detailed planning and execution phases, which allow for a variety of tactical approaches and emphasize strategic thinking.

The cooperative multiplayer mode is highlighted as a positive aspect, enabling players to coordinate tactics with friends, adding depth to the gameplay experience.

Graphics and sound design are generally well-received, contributing to an engaging and immersive tactical environment.

Negative Points

Some players have expressed frustration with the game's difficulty curve and the perceived imbalance between player and enemy AI, especially in the CIA missions.

The game's presentation of Middle Eastern settings and characters has been criticized for being politically insensitive and perpetuating stereotypes.

A common complaint involves the occasionally unresponsive or unintuitive controls, which some players find cumbersome during high-pressure situations.

There are reports of technical issues, such as crashing, particularly with certain setups like AMD processors.

Mixed Points

While the game's AI and control mechanics are praised for their realism, some players find them overly punishing, especially during unexpected situations.

The progression and unlock system is a point of contention; some enjoy the challenge it provides, while others find it restrictively difficult without sufficient explanations or tutorials.
