Overall, player sentiment towards Days Gone is largely positive, with widespread appreciation for its engaging story and atmospheric open-world. The game is praised for its unique mechanics like motorcycle dynamics and horde battles, though it suffers from a slow start and technical issues such as bugs and performance drops. While the crafting and leveling systems receive both praise and criticism, the characters and the emotional depth, especially between Deacon and Boozer, are unanimously regarded as the game's strong points. The community widely desires a sequel, wishing to further explore the rich world and narrative introduced.
