The game's initial release had significant issues, which has left a lasting impact on player perception, but many players appreciate the improvements made through updates and find the strategy and graphics appealing. However, the balance issues, high DLC prices, and frustrating multiplayer experiences are ongoing concerns. Overall, while CoH3 is recognized as an enjoyable and strategic addition to the franchise, much of the community believes it has a long way to go to reach the heights of its predecessors.

Positive Points

The game has improved significantly since its challenging launch, with many players now praising its entertaining and strategic gameplay across both single-player and multiplayer modes.

Graphics and sound design are mostly appreciated, providing a visually appealing and immersive experience, though some players still find room for improvement.

The game includes new and innovative gameplay elements, such as towed artillery and the ability for infantry to ride on tanks, which enhance tactical options.

The community engagement has been positive, with developers continuously updating the game and adding new content that has refined the experience.

Negative Points

Many players criticize the game's balance, particularly the perceived overpowering of certain factions and units, which hinders fair play.

The high cost of DLCs is a significant point of contention, with many feeling the paywalls are too steep for the content provided.

The multiplayer experience can be frustrating due to toxic behavior, poor matchmaking, and technical issues, including frequent crashes and connectivity problems.

The single-player campaigns, especially the Italian campaign, are seen as repetitive and lacking depth, failing to engage players fully.

Mixed Points

The new strategic map layer added in the Italian campaign receives mixed feedback; some players enjoy the added complexity, while others find it clunky and detracting from the game's core appeal.

The balance updates have received varying opinions; some appreciate efforts to balance factions, while others feel changes are either ineffective or unfairly skewed.

Common Themes

The transition from CoH2 to CoH3 has been a major talking point, with players divided on whether the new title surpasses its predecessor.

Monetization strategies, especially concerning DLC prices and content, are frequently criticized as being excessive and poorly implemented.

Many players compare CoH3 to CoH2 and CoH1, often stating that while it retains the core elements, it hasn't innovated or expanded enough to justify its price.
