The overall sentiment of the reviews is overwhelmingly positive, with many praising the unique atmosphere and well-executed blend of classic horror and dungeon crawling elements. The combat system is appreciated for its depth and strategic elements, despite some players citing it as repetitive or unsuitable for certain encounters. While the game effectively captures a retro aesthetic that appeals to fans of older games, technical issues and UI flaws marred the experience for some. The game's length and ease of play are points of contention, with some players desiring more content. Overall, it is seen as a solid addition to the genre, particularly for those enamored with its inspirations.

Positive Points

The game has a unique and immersive atmosphere, praised for its resemblance to Silent Hill, King's Field, and other classic survival horror games.

Atmospheric visuals and well-executed sound design contribute to the game's haunting and immersive experience.

The combat system, featuring methodical, first-person melee combat, is appreciated for its depth and challenge, despite its simplicity.

The game effectively captures a retro, PS1/PS2 aesthetic, which appeals to fans of that era.

Puzzles are considered well-integrated, with many players finding them balanced between challenging and intuitive.

The setting— a dark, mythical version of feudal Japan— has been praised for its authenticity and engaging world-building.

Negative Points

Some players find the game too short for its price, completing it in around 6-8 hours.

A few reviewers noted that the user interface can be clunky and inconvenient at times.

There were instances of technical issues, such as keybinding problems and forced aspect ratios, that detracted from the experience.

A lack of difficulty options means that some players found the game too easy.

Mixed Points

While the combat system is generally praised, some find it repetitive or not suitable for multi-enemy encounters.

The game's horror elements, though atmospheric, divide opinion; some find them engaging, while others expected more intensity.

Boss battles have been described as easy by some players, which could either maintain or reduce tension.

Common Themes

Comparison to games like Silent Hill, King's Field, and other classic horror titles is common.

Nostalgia plays a significant role in the positive reception of the game's retro aesthetics and gameplay mechanics.

Both positive and negative reviews mention the game's blend of dungeon crawling with survival horror elements.
