The game is generally received positively with many praising its similarities to Kingdoms and Castles while adding new mechanics such as the water simulation. The god favor system and logistics management present challenges that feel rewarding to some players but frustrating to others. Players highlight the graphics and art style as charming. However, some performance issues and the current price leave room for improvement.

Positive Points

The game builds on the success of Kingdoms and Castles with a Roman theme, offering improved mechanics and greater depth.

Water simulation mechanics are highly praised for their realism and innovation, adding a unique challenge to the gameplay.

The addition of a tech tree and god favor system adds new strategic layers to city-building.

Graphics and art style are considered charming and appealing, drawing comparisons to classic Roman architecture.

Negative Points

The logistics system, especially for transport carts, is often described as clunky and in need of refinement.

Some players found the god favor system to be frustrating, with gods becoming angry too quickly or unpredictably.

Several reviews noted performance issues on larger maps or with larger populations.

The price is considered high by some players, especially given its early access status.

Mixed Points

While the game offers more depth than Kingdoms and Castles, some players feel it hasn't deviated enough to justify the full price.

The game's early access status means it has bugs, but updates are frequent and the developers are responsive.

Common Themes

Many players recommend the game as a worthy sequel to Kingdoms and Castles, citing it as a step forward in terms of complexity and design.

The game's Roman theme is well-received, and the blend of old and new mechanics is highlighted as a strength.

City planning and management provide both challenges and enjoyment, with references to how these elements were better implemented compared to its predecessor.
