The general sentiment of the reviews is nuanced, with a prevailing sense of significant improvement over the original Yooka-Laylee. Players largely enjoy the enhanced graphics, smoother controls, and additional content, making it a nostalgic experience akin to beloved classic platformers. However, there are critical notes on technical issues like poor optimization and bugs, alongside mixed feelings about gameplay changes such as the instant access to moves. Despite some frustrations, many view it as a successful revival, encouraging fans of the genre to give it a try.
