DLC cash-grab

The general sentiment towards Planet Coaster 2 is mostly positive among creative players who praise its graphics and advanced building systems. However, there are significant criticisms about persistent bugs and awkward user interface that detract from the experience. The game's frequent updates have been perceived as beneficial, though some players are critical of DLC pricing. Overall, while enthusiasm for its creative potential remains high, usability issues and technical problems present ongoing challenges for players.

Positive Points

Graphics are a significant upgrade from the first game, offering a visually stunning experience despite performance issues for some users.

The building system, particularly object scaling and custom ride vehicles, enhances creativity, allowing players to design intricate parks and environments.

The game caters well to creative players, offering a robust set of tools for sandbox creation, including paths and scenery brushes.

Frequent updates have added significant content and bug fixes, improving the game's overall quality since its initially rocky launch.

Negative Points

Numerous bugs and crashes, especially related to guest AI, ride mechanics, and pathing systems, disrupt gameplay and cause frustration.

The user interface is widely criticized for being convoluted, unintuitive, and clunky, especially when navigating menus for building and management.

DLC content model is perceived as a cash-grab, with many players feeling essential content is locked behind paid expansions.

The pathing system remains problematic, causing issues with terrain and object alignment, making park creation tedious and difficult.

Mixed Points

The management aspect divides opinion, with some players finding it an unnecessary complexity and others viewing it as a necessary inclusion for realism.

Performance varies among users: some find the game runs smoothly, while others experience lag and long loading times, particularly in larger parks.

Reception to new features like water parks is mixed; they're seen as a great addition by some but criticized for buggy implementation and limited utility.

Common Themes

Planet Coaster 2 serves as an impressive creative platform for park builders who favor design freedom and detail.

Performance concerns are prevalent, with both positive remarks about optimization improvements and negative experiences of crashes and lag.

Despite a rough start, consistent updates and added content have improved the game's reception over time.

Many players express a strong nostalgic connection to previous tycoon games, often comparing Planet Coaster 2 to them.
