technical issues

Fans generally enjoy the core elements of Yakuza 0, with the Director's Cut praised for its improved performance and new language options. However, there is substantial dissatisfaction with the pricing strategy and minimal new content. The English dub brings a new accessibility option, though opinions on it are divided. The delisting of the original game is seen negatively, viewed as a decision driven by profit rather than player interest.

Positive Points

The Director's Cut version is praised for its improved performance compared to the original release, with better graphics and quality of life changes like the ability to save anywhere.

Fans appreciate the addition of English and other language dubs, providing more accessibility for a wider audience.

The new multiplayer mode, Red Light Raid, adds a new dimension to the gameplay, allowing players to control characters they previously could not.

Negative Points

Many players feel the Director's Cut adds minimal new content for its price, criticizing it as a cash grab due to the limited and unnecessary additional cutscenes.

The decision to delist the original game has been met with significant backlash, with players feeling this undermines the legacy of the original release.

Technical issues such as subtitles appearing off-screen, audio delays, and increased game size without proportional content addition have been highlighted as significant concerns.

Mixed Points

The game's pricing strategy has been a polarizing topic; while some players appreciate the discount for original game owners, others still find the upgrade cost unjustified.

Reception of the English dub is mixed, with some appreciating the option while others criticize the recasting of beloved characters.

Common Themes

Players frequently mention the high price of the Director's Cut as being unreasonable, especially considering the age of the game and the minimal additions.

The preservation and delisting of the original Yakuza 0 is a common concern, viewed as a negative move by SEGA and RGG Studio.

While the core of Yakuza 0 remains loved, some fans feel that the Director's Cut changes do not enhance the experience and even detract from it.
