DLC feel

Assassin's Creed Mirage evokes nostalgia in fans by returning to its classic roots with a focus on stealth and parkour. Many appreciate the vibrant setting of Baghdad and the concise story that avoids bloated RPG elements, a welcome departure from recent titles. However, players criticize the short story and clunky combat, noting the game's overall lack of depth and suggesting it felt more like a DLC than a full game. While the story and combat received mixed reviews, the game is generally recommended for long-time fans seeking a traditional Assassin's Creed experience.

Positive Points

The game is praised for its return to the classic Assassin's Creed style, with a focus on stealth, parkour, and a more concise narrative compared to more recent entries.

Many players appreciate the setting of 9th-century Baghdad, citing its vibrant and historically rich environment as a major immersive element.

Some reviews highlight the successful modernization of old game mechanics, such as improved parkour and engaging assassination missions.

The character of Basim and his backstory is considered compelling, offering depth and intrigue to players familiar with his role in Valhalla.

Players enjoyed the shorter game length compared to previous titles, as it offers a focused experience without the excessive bloat of prior games.

Negative Points

The story is often described as lacking depth and being unengaging, with some players finding it predictable and not aligning with franchise lore.

Combat mechanics received criticism for being clunky and repetitive, with many players feeling it detracts from the overall experience.

Parkour, while improved from recent games, still feels inconsistent and awkward to some players, impacting the flow of the game.

Many players noted that the game felt too short and could have been a DLC rather than a standalone title, given its content and depth.

Mixed Points

The game's visuals and atmosphere received mixed feedback. While some players found Baghdad beautifully rendered, others felt the graphics lacked innovation.

Common Themes

A common sentiment is that Mirage feels like a nostalgia trip back to the roots of Assassin's Creed, which appeals to long-term fans of the series.

The balance between stealth and combat is frequently mentioned, with a consensus that the game succeeds better in stealth while combat is less satisfying.

There is a recurring theme of the game feeling like a blend of old and new Assassin's Creed titles, trying to capture the essence of early games with modern updates.
